Obverse Design

Reverse Design

The reverse depicts the Dutch coat of arms: a crowned lion holding a sword and arrows, set upon a large shield surmounted by a crown. The denomination “10 G” is placed on either side of the shield. The 1875 issue has the date at the top with a retrograde legend “KONINGRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN” running anticlockwise, while later issues moved the date below the shield and feature a clockwise legend. Privy marks (axe and caduceus) appear flanking the shield.
